Attendance tells you more than any other number in your school. It shows which students are thriving, which ones are drifting away before they cancel, which classes are overcrowded and which time slots nobody wants. It is also the base of most promotion rules: a student usually needs a certain number of classes before they test for the next belt.
Yet in many dojos attendance still lives on a clipboard by the door, a sign-in sheet that someone types up at the end of the month, or nowhere at all. The data exists for a moment and then disappears, and the head instructor ends up counting classes from memory before every belt test.

Check-in from the mat in seconds
Coaches open the Today screen and see only the classes they teach that day. They pick the class, and the roster for that group is already there. One tap per student is all it takes, right from a phone, while the class lines up.
Five statuses cover what really happens on the mat: present, late, excused, absent and trial. Trial marks a first free class for a prospective student, so you can see who came to try you out and follow up with them.

Coaches see their own groups, and nothing more
Assistant instructors and part-time coaches need the roster, not the whole school. In ClubTide, coaches only see the members and classes of the groups they teach. Medical notes such as allergies or restrictions are shown only to staff with permission to see them, and the front desk can take attendance without access to promotions.

Attendance history and rate for every student
Every check-in is stored on the student's profile. Open any member and you see the classes they attended, the ones they missed and their attendance rate. It makes conversations with parents much easier: instead of "I think he has been missing a few classes", you can show exactly what happened.
Parents see the same history in the parent portal, so they know whether their child actually made it to Tuesday's class without calling the front desk.

Every class counts toward the next belt
If a rank requires a minimum number of classes, ClubTide counts them for you. Classes marked present, late or trial since the student's last promotion count toward the requirement, and cancelled sessions are left out. The count is always current because it is built on the attendance your coaches already take.
Together with time at rank, minimum age, curriculum skills and coach approval, attendance feeds a readiness view that tells you who is ready to test. Promotions are still confirmed by a coach.

Attendance reports that answer real questions

Can coaches take attendance from their phone?
Yes. ClubTide runs in any modern browser, so coaches open the Today screen on their phone, pick the class and mark each student in a few taps. There is nothing to install.
Which attendance statuses are available?
Present, late, excused, absent and trial. Present, late and trial count as attended, which matters for belt requirements, while excused and absent do not.
What happens when I cancel or move a class?
The change is saved on that session and the families of the students in the group get a notification. Cancelled sessions are not counted toward attendance requirements.
Do coaches see every student in the school?
No. Coaches only see the members and classes of the groups they teach. Owners and admins see the whole school.
Does attendance count toward belt promotions?
Yes, if you set a minimum number of classes for a rank. ClubTide counts attended classes since the last promotion and shows it in the student's readiness, but a coach always confirms the promotion.
