From white belt to black belt, on record
A karate student's journey is measured in kyu grades counting down to black belt and then dan grades counting up. Each step has its own syllabus of kihon, kata and kumite, a minimum time since the last grading and, for many schools, a minimum number of classes. Gradings are held a few times a year and need invitations, fees, results and certificates in the right names.
ClubTide turns that syllabus into a rank system you control. Start from the karate template, rename the belts to your kyu and dan grades, add the kata and techniques required at each level, and set the requirements your association or your chief instructor uses. Attendance, curriculum progress and time at grade are checked continuously, so the list of students ready for the next grading is always current.
The software never grades anyone by itself. It shows who meets the requirements, and a sensei or admin confirms every promotion, one student at a time or for everyone who passed a grading.
Kyu and dan grades, your way
The karate template gives you white, yellow, orange, green, blue, purple, brown and black belts to start with. Rename them to 10th kyu, 9th kyu and so on, add intermediate grades, split brown belt into several kyu, or add dan grades after shodan. Colors and order are yours to set.
Juniors often follow a different syllabus with extra intermediate belts. Run a separate kids rank system alongside the adult one, each with its own curriculum and requirements.

Kata, kihon and kumite in the syllabus
Organize each grade's syllabus into sections such as kihon, kata, kumite and terminology, and add the individual items: Heian Shodan for one grade, Bassai Dai for another, the combinations and sparring drills you expect. Mark which items are required.
Coaches record each student's progress as they teach, so everyone knows which kata still needs work before the next grading. When a grade requires its curriculum, the student only shows as ready once the required items are done.

Who is ready for the next grading
Set requirements per grade: a minimum number of classes since the last grading, minimum months at the current kyu, a minimum age for dan grades and the required syllabus. Turn on instructor approval so a student only appears as ready once a sensei has recommended them.
Readiness shows as a percentage with a clear list of what is missing, and each group gets a ready-to-grade list. Promotion stays a human decision.

Grading days, organized
Create a grading with a date, location, capacity, registration deadline and grading fee. Invite candidates by email, and parents register their children from the parent portal. Registration adds the grading fee to the family's invoices, ready to pay online.
On the day, record each candidate as passed, failed or absent. Then promote everyone who passed in one bulk action. Each new grade is saved in the student's permanent history, linked to that grading.

A grade history that cannot be rewritten
Every promotion is stored with its date, previous grade, who promoted the student and the grading it came from. Entries cannot be edited later, so years from now you can still answer when a student earned their 3rd kyu or their shodan.

Classes, attendance and trial students
Build a weekly schedule for your kids, teens and adult classes across one or more dojos. Instructors take attendance on their phone as present, late, excused, absent or trial, and every class counts toward the next grading. Can I use kyu and dan grade names instead of belt colors?
Yes. Rank names are free text, so you can call them 10th kyu, 9th kyu, shodan, nidan or anything your association uses, and still give each one a belt color.
Can I add kata to each grade's requirements?
Yes. Each grade has curriculum sections and items. Add the kata, kihon and kumite you expect, mark which are required, and coaches record every student's progress.
Does ClubTide decide who passes a grading?
No. It shows who meets the requirements before the grading. You record the results on the day, and a sensei or admin confirms the promotions, individually or in bulk for everyone who passed.
How do parents pay the grading fee?
When a parent registers their child for a grading in the portal, the fee is added as an invoice they can pay by card online. You can also record cash payments at the desk.
Can juniors and adults follow different syllabi?
Yes. A school can run several rank systems, for example one for juniors with extra intermediate belts and one for adults, each with its own requirements.
